The Press Democrat Endorses
Measures EE and FF (read the editorial)

On November 5th, voters will decide on Measure EE, a proposal that will modernize Santa Rosa’s business license tax, strengthening a funding source that will preserve and enhance community services. Measure EE limits license tax fees for small businesses, and caps business license taxes to $10,000 annually for the city’s largest businesses, adjusted annually for inflation – creating a level playing field depending on business size, while generating an estimated $3 million each year to help fund essential city services. The essential revenue generated by Measure EE will support pothole repair, improved maintenance on Santa Rosa’s 512 miles of local streets, and help upkeep our city parks, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and well-maintained for community enjoyment.

On November 5th, voters will decide on Measure FF, a proposal to increase Santa Rosa's Transient Occupancy (TOT) tax from 9% to 11%, aligning it with other Sonoma County cities. Measure FF is expected to generate $1.2 million annually, and the tax measure would be paid by visitors, not locals, ensuring they contribute their fair share to help maintain our streets, sidewalks, and other community infrastructure, along with public safety and other essential services.
